Terms of Service
Last updated: April 3, 2026
These terms are a straightforward agreement between you and Instynx. By using the extension, web app, or any part of our service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, that's okay — just don't use the service.
1. What Instynx is
Instynx is an AI-powered browser extension and companion web application. It helps you browse smarter by providing summaries, writing assistance, reply suggestions, task management, and optional browsing monitoring with automated actions. The extension works on Chrome, and the web app is available at instynx.io.
2. Your account
- •Some features work without an account. For the full experience, you'll need to sign up with Google.
- •You're responsible for your account and everything that happens under it.
- •One account per person. Don't share your access or create multiple accounts.
- •Provide accurate information. We need a real email to keep your account secure.
3. What you can do
You're welcome to:
- •Use Instynx for personal and professional productivity.
- •Save, export, and use AI-generated content for your own work.
- •Set up playbook rules, monitoring preferences, and goals as you see fit.
- •Share project results through our sharing features.
4. What you can't do
Please don't:
- •Use Instynx for anything illegal or harmful.
- •Try to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract our source code.
- •Abuse our API or overwhelm our servers with automated requests.
- •Use the service to generate spam, harassment, or malicious content.
- •Resell or redistribute Instynx or its outputs as a competing service.
- •Scrape, crawl, or extract data from our platform programmatically.
5. AI-generated content
This is important — please read it:
- •AI makes mistakes. Summaries, suggestions, replies, and research outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Always review AI-generated content before relying on it — especially for important decisions.
- •Not professional advice. AI outputs are not medical, legal, financial, or professional advice. Consult qualified professionals for those things.
- •Your responsibility. You're responsible for how you use AI-generated content. If you publish a tweet, send an email, or make a decision based on Instynx's output, that's on you.
- •Multiple AI providers. We use various AI models through OpenRouter. The quality and behavior of responses depends on the model you choose.
6. Browsing monitoring
- •Monitoring is opt-in. You choose if and how Instynx observes your browsing during onboarding.
- •You can pause, adjust, or disable monitoring at any time.
- •Sensitive sites (banking, healthcare, government) are always excluded.
- •The Transparency Log shows you everything Instynx observed and did.
- •See our Privacy Policy for full details on data collection.
7. Your data
- •You own your data. Your goals, saved content, chat history, and everything you create belongs to you.
- •You can take it with you. Export all your data anytime from the Settings page.
- •You can delete it. Remove individual items or request complete account deletion.
- •We need a license to operate. By using Instynx, you give us permission to process your content through AI models, store it on our servers, and display it back to you. This is only so the service can work — we won't use your content for anything else.
8. Intellectual property
- •Instynx's code, design, brand, and features belong to us.
- •Your content (saved items, chat messages, goals, projects) belongs to you.
- •AI-generated outputs are provided to you for your use — but since they're generated by third-party AI models, copyright ownership of AI outputs may vary by jurisdiction.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep Instynx running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. Things break sometimes — servers go down, APIs have issues, updates need to happen. We'll do our best to minimize disruptions and communicate about any significant downtime.
10. Pricing
- •Instynx is currently completely free. All features are available to every user at no cost.
- •We may introduce paid tiers or display ads in the web app in the future to keep the service running. If we do, we'll give you notice and existing core features won't disappear.
11. Third-party platforms
Instynx works alongside websites and platforms you visit (YouTube, Google, X, LinkedIn, Gmail, etc.). We're not affiliated with any of them. Their terms of service still apply when you use their sites. If a platform changes how their site works, some Instynx features may be temporarily affected.
12. Limitation of liability
Instynx is provided "as is." We do our best to make it useful and reliable, but we can't be held responsible for:
- •Decisions you make based on AI-generated content.
- •Losses from service downtime or bugs.
- •Actions taken by the AI that produce unexpected results.
- •Issues caused by third-party services (AI providers, hosting, etc.).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (which is $0 if you're on the free plan).
13. Termination
- •You can leave anytime. Uninstall the extension, delete your account, and you're done.
- •We can terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or engage in harmful activity.
- •If we terminate your account, you can still request your data export.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know through the app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
